AsSalaamu 'alaykum I think the brother's advice was good and well intended as well as the initial goals of the institute but as the situation changes the ruling changes. Here the situation is not as expected so the programs have to be adaptive to some extent. I still think the academy should have hadith as its main focus and go as in depth as it is capable of. After all it, was an al-bayquniyyah search that landed me at this site in the first place, bi'idhnillah. I also think that it should continue to offer other classes in other fields; maybe just enough to give students a good foundation though and especially offering ijaazaat as this is also something rare to find nowadays. At any rate, may Allah guide you all the the course of action that leads the academy and its students to achieving the maximum benefit and thus more of His pleasure.  May Allah increase you all in good, grant you good ends, forgive all of your sins and shortcomings, save you from the fire and grant you all Jannatul-firdaws.
